The campus visit may well be the most important part of your decision process. Even if you decide not to spend the night, you should plan to be here for at least half a day. We hope you'll consider this to be your invitation, and after you've looked over the following information, that you'll call 1-800-423-6236 or schedule your visit online. How to Plan Your Visit

It's really easy to schedule your visit. Just call our toll-free number (or write) to let us know when you want to come, and we'll do the rest. Here are a few things to keep in mind when you're making your plans:

  • Count on being here at least a half day—it's best to arrive in the early morning or early afternoon.
  • Dress comfortably—your interviews will be informal, so you can wear what you normally wear to school.
  • You can visit with your parents or alone, but we do, of course, encourage parents to come for the visit.
  • Try to give us at least one week's notice for a day visit and two week's notice for an overnight visit so we have time to plan a stay that will reflect your special interests.

What You Can Do

At the very least, a visit usually includes a tour of campus and a meeting with an admission counselor. (It's definitely not a formal interview, so relax!) But if you have the time, you might also:

  • Eat lunch in our dining hall
  • Attend a class or two. (We'll try to find one that matches your interests.)
  • Meet with a faculty member from a specific program, a coach, or a staff contact person for a particular interest (career services, diversity programs, or volunteer and leadership programs, for instance.)
  • Spend the night with a student host (Sunday through Thursday).
  • Attend a show at the Norton Center for the Arts. (We have a few tickets to some of the events for prospective students.)

Special Events for Prospective Students

We love for students to make individual visits, but we do have a few special summer events in case you are interested in a more extensive program. Each of our Summer Experience days is focused on a special academic area, and each includes a special session with faculty and even hands-on activities and demonstrations. Summer Experience days also include guided tours and admission information sessions.

  • Friday, July 11, 2008: Math, Science & Research
  • Friday, July 18, 2008: International Studies & Social Sciences
