Photo | Video of the Week

Welcome to the Photo | Video of the Week. Each week, the Communications Office chooses a photo or video that exemplifies some aspect of life at Centre.

Photo submissions. To submit a photo for consideration on this page e-mail Chris Floyd at chris.floyd@centre.edu with "POW" as the subject, or send a photograph through campus mail to his attention. Be sure to identify the people, location, and event. Any photos relating to the Centre experience, whether taken on campus or off campus may be submitted. And remember, the more dynamic and original the shot, the better. If you're sending a digital photo, be sure to send the picture at the highest resolution possible.

Video submissions. To submit a video for consideration on this page send a CD with your video in Quicktime format to Chris Floyd through campus mail. The video must be between 30 and 60 seconds at the highest resolution possible, and can either be raw footage or edited. Remember, the more dynamic and interesting the clip, the better.

Note: photos and videos submitted for Photo/Video of the Week may be used elsewhere on the College’s Web site, in publications, or in other Centre communications.

Chemistry students regain Golden Mallet from mathematics

This week Centre students took part in the 14th-annual Math vs. Chemistry croquet match held on the lawn of Breckinridge Hall. The Golden Mallet, presented to the winner, was taken by chemistry this year; they regained it from the mathematics team, who won it during the 2008 battle. The overall winning record is close: chemistry holds seven wins, math holds five wins, and there are two ties. Hitting the ball in this photo is Natalie Orms '13, who plays for the chemistry team.
Behind her is, from left to right, math major Paige Hebard '10, math major Chris Dobbs '10, math professor John Wilson, chemistry team member Ben Boone '13, and math team member Malcolm Richerson '13.
