This talk will explore and explain the remarkable cultural and musical links that exist between Europe and North America, between Spain and Morocco, between Jews, Muslims, and Christians. Dr. Vanessa Paloma Elbaz (PhD, Sorbonne) is a specialist in Judeo-Spanish Moroccan Jewry. Her work on the oral history of Spanish and Moroccan Jewish women has been ground-breaking and shed new light on the living legacies of Andalusian music and stories.
